Tables, Chairs and Coordinated Furniture
The range can be considered through standalone tables, chairs and matching groups, with Corten steel used for the body, frame or selected components. A timber, stone, ceramic or composite surface is a separate specification, not an automatic part of a steel furniture offer.
Identify whether the furniture is for a private garden, hospitality terrace or another setting. Frequent movement, public access and cleaning routines can create different requirements from a permanently positioned decorative piece. For long seating units, see the separate Corten steel bench range.
Furniture Specification and Scope

Supply drawings that show the complete assembly and indicate parts supplied by others. If a matching set uses several materials, agree their interfaces and finish acceptance separately.
Contact Surfaces and Practical Use
Weathered steel is not necessarily the ideal direct-contact material for every seat or tabletop. Consider surface temperature in sunlight, clothing contact, sharp edges and cleaning. A pre-weathered appearance does not by itself prove that the surface is suitable for food contact or free from rub-off.
For dining furniture, specify the tabletop and any relevant hygiene or surface-performance requirements. For chairs, review the seat, back and support arrangement as a complete furnishing. The chosen steel grade does not independently establish comfort, durability testing or a rated occupant load.
Stability and Positioning
A piece can be stable in one installation and unsuitable in another. Assess the supporting surface, slope, wind exposure and the way people may lean on or move the furniture. Anchored and movable versions need different details, and heavy furniture still requires a handling plan.
Allow clearance around seating and tables for the intended users and site rules. Interfaces with paving should address drainage, surface damage and run-off. Do not assume that furniture designed for a terrace is automatically appropriate for a balcony or roof without checking the supporting structure.
Material, Finish and Quotation
The exact weathering grade, fabrication details and contact materials should be confirmed in the offer. Chemical and mechanical requirements follow the specified base material; there is no universal “furniture grade” property table or automatic equivalence between different steels.
Send a drawing or layout, quantity, component materials, finish and delivery destination. List any required test evidence, inspection, replacement parts or special packing. Corten Steel Outdoor Furniture FAQs
Does every furniture item use only Corten steel?
Not necessarily. Tables and chairs may combine steel with other contact materials. The quotation should identify each component and what is included.
Are the tables suitable for dining?
Specify the intended tabletop and any applicable surface requirements. A Corten frame or weathered appearance does not establish food-contact suitability.
Can furniture be moved after installation?
That depends on the design and anchorage. Confirm whether the unit is movable or fixed and agree safe handling arrangements.
Is an occupant load rating included?
Only where supported by the agreed design or testing. Material thickness alone does not establish a furniture load rating.
Will all items weather to the same colour?
Natural appearance varies with exposure and component details. Agree finish samples or acceptance criteria if consistency is important.
Can furniture be installed on a roof terrace?
The supporting structure, loads, wind exposure and access must be assessed for the installation. A general outdoor designation is not sufficient.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Provide the layout, dimensions, materials, quantity, use conditions, finish, any test requirements and delivery location.
