Choose the box around the items it must receive and the way the postal carrier or courier will use it. A letter slot suitable for envelopes does not automatically accommodate parcels.
A Corten exterior should be identified explicitly in the quotation. Galvanized, powder-coated carbon-steel or stainless alternatives can have similar appearances in photographs but are different material offers. Do not accept a finish name as confirmation of the substrate.

Rain Entry and Contents Protection
A mailbox must manage weather at its openings, door edges and mounting points. Specify the intended exposure and the protection expected for letters or parcels. A rust-coloured steel body is not evidence of a waterproof rating, and untested sealing claims should not substitute for an agreed design.
The interior and exterior may need different details. Provide a route for incidental moisture without directing it onto the contents, and ensure doors remain accessible for maintenance. Any lining, internal tray or protective treatment should be included in the documented supply scope.
Postal Acceptance and Site Installation
Check the postal or courier requirements for the delivery location before ordering a custom box. In the USA, the USPS mailbox guidance addresses approved designs and review of custom-made boxes. Other countries and delivery arrangements may have different requirements.
Mounting position, access, support and visibility should suit the local delivery service and site. A lockable parcel compartment is not automatically an approved curbside mailbox, and ASC does not imply postal approval merely by offering a steel enclosure.

Send a drawing or clear layout with external dimensions, delivery openings, retrieval side and lock requirements. Include the required quantity, finish, numbering, destination and intended postal arrangement. The offer should identify the actual exterior material and all non-Corten components.
For a coordinated entrance, compare Corten steel signage and garden gates. Keep drainage and run-off away from sensitive wall finishes. Availability, inspection documents and lead time are confirmed for the accepted design.

Is every rust-coloured mailbox made from Corten steel?
No. A coating can imitate the colour. The quotation should identify the actual substrate and finish, not only the appearance.
Can a letterbox also receive parcels?
Only if the opening, internal space and access mechanism are designed for the intended parcels. Provide the expected package dimensions.
Does the mailbox include a lock?
The lock, key arrangement and any parcel-drop mechanism must be specified and confirmed in the offer.
Is the mailbox waterproof?
