Outdoor Grills, Plancha Units and Cooking Layouts
The design may combine a weathering-steel outer body with a grate, flat cooking plate or other agreed cooking component. A grill and a plancha serve different cooking layouts, so show the required surface and usable cooking area rather than specifying only the overall diameter.
Potential arrangements include standing units, bases with log storage or drawing-led compact designs. Any folding, smoker or additional cooking function must be defined in the offer; it should not be inferred from a similar-looking product photograph.
BBQ and Plancha Quotation Details
| Detail | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Fuel and function | Intended wood or charcoal operation and required grill or plancha arrangement. |
| Dimensions | Overall width or diameter, height, cooking area and supporting-base details. |
| Cooking surface | Material, thickness, finish and documented food-contact suitability for the intended use. |
| Fire-side parts | Fire bowl or liner, fuel support, ash handling and the approved assembly design. |
| Accessories | Grids, covers, utensils, storage and other items required in the quoted scope. |
Confirm which parts are Corten steel and which use other suitable materials. The body thickness should not be mistaken for the cooking plate specification. A dimension from a catalogue example is not a guarantee of a complete ready-to-use cooking system.
Food-Contact Surfaces and Maintenance
Cooking grids and plates should be selected for their intended food-contact and temperature conditions. Their material, finish and maintenance instructions need to be identified before purchase. Do not cook directly on an unspecified decorative steel surface or assume that every rust-coloured component is intended to touch food.
Request the instructions relevant to the offered cooking components, including cleaning, storage and any preparation required before use. These instructions should come with the confirmed product rather than being improvised from its appearance.
Outdoor Siting and Fire Safety
Use outdoor cooking appliances only in the outdoor conditions permitted by their instructions and local rules. Fuel-burning equipment can produce carbon monoxide; it is not intended for an enclosed room, garage or tent. Keep the installation and operating area appropriate for hot surfaces, flame and sparks.
The final product instructions and local authority requirements must establish clearances and permitted surfaces. A decorative base or nearby log compartment does not remove the need for safe fuel storage and supervision. This is an equipment selection enquiry, not an installation guide.
Weathering Body and Related Outdoor Products
The outer surface can change colour with exposure and use. Heat, smoke and grease may affect appearance, so agree the delivery finish and practical maintenance expectations. No smokeless, rust-proof or lifetime-performance guarantee is implied.
For a non-cooking focal point, see Corten steel fire pits; for separate fuel storage, see log stores. Each product has its own scope and operating requirements.
Request a BBQ Grill Quotation
Send the desired layout, dimensions, quantity, fuel type and destination. List the cooking surfaces, accessories and documentation required. ASC will confirm the proposed supply configuration, inspection requirements, packing and quotation-specific lead time before an order is placed.
Technical and Safety References
US Fire Administration outdoor-fire guidance; US CPSC carbon-monoxide safety guidance. Guidance must be applied to the actual product, location and project; it is not certification of an offered configuration.
International Project Enquiries
ASC welcomes project enquiries from the USA, UK, Europe, Canada, Brazil and other international destinations. Include the delivery location and required date so packing, availability and logistics can be addressed in the quotation.
Corten Steel BBQ Grills FAQs
Is the cooking plate made from Corten steel?
Do not assume so. The outer body and food-contact surface are separate components; the offered plate or grid material and suitability must be confirmed.
What is the difference between a grill and a plancha?
A grill typically uses an open grid, while a plancha uses a flat cooking surface. Specify the desired arrangement and usable area for the quotation.
Can the unit be used inside a covered room?
Outdoor fuel-burning equipment must not be used in enclosed spaces. Follow the confirmed product instructions and local requirements for permitted outdoor siting.
Are covers and accessories included?
Only when listed in the agreed offer. State the required grid, plate, cover, storage or other accessories with the enquiry.
Are the units smokeless?
No smokeless claim is made. Fuel, combustion design and operating conditions affect smoke; rely on the documented performance of the actual product.
What information should I send?
Provide dimensions, fuel type, cooking layout and material requirements, quantity, accessory list and delivery destination.
