Gas Fire Tables and Decorative Enclosures
A gas fire pit can combine a weathering-steel outer enclosure with a separately specified burner, control system and associated parts. The quotation must clearly state whether the supply is enclosure-only or includes an agreed complete equipment package.
Natural gas and LPG/propane require compatible equipment. Identify the intended fuel before design review; do not assume a product can be changed between fuels without the manufacturer’s approved configuration and qualified installation.
Gas Fire Pit Quotation Checklist
| Detail | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Enclosure | Overall dimensions, shape, finish, access panels and supporting arrangement. |
| Fuel and equipment | Natural gas or LPG/propane, proposed burner package and required documented approvals. |
| System interfaces | Control access, manufacturer-required ventilation, drainage and component clearances. |
| Installation setting | Outdoor site, service access, destination requirements and responsible installer. |
| Supply boundary | Steel-only enclosure or precisely listed gas components, media and accessories. |
Provide the selected burner manufacturer’s installation information and the project drawing. Enclosure details should be reviewed against that equipment, rather than selecting a burner solely because it physically fits the opening.
Matched Equipment and Professional Installation
Use a qualified gas professional to confirm the installation and local compliance requirements. The approved equipment instructions govern ventilation, clearances, connections and operating limits. This page does not provide gas-connection or burner-conversion instructions.
The complete arrangement must retain access for inspection and servicing. A rating or certification belonging to one component should not be presented as approval of a modified assembled fire table. Request the documentation for the actual configuration before accepting a compliance claim.
Outdoor Operation and Carbon Monoxide
Gas combustion can produce carbon monoxide. Outdoor equipment is not suitable for enclosed indoor spaces merely because it burns without visible smoke. The proposed location must meet the equipment’s outdoor-use conditions and any local restrictions.
Fire tables also create hot surfaces and flame exposure. The finished product needs operating instructions appropriate to its fuel and controls. Follow those instructions and use the equipment only for its intended purpose; decorative fire media and accessories must be compatible with the selected system.
Steel Finish and Water Management
Specify the Corten body material and delivery finish separately from the burner and other components. The enclosure should be detailed to manage rainwater without compromising the gas equipment or its required ventilation. Natural weathering appearance may vary across sheltered and exposed faces.
For a different fuel type see wood fire pits. For a taller outdoor focal point see outdoor fireplace enquiries; neither is automatically interchangeable with a gas fire table.
Request an Enclosure or Complete-Scope Review
Send the dimensions, quantity, destination, fuel type and burner-system documentation. List all required components and identify the party responsible for installation and commissioning. ASC will confirm the offered steelwork and any agreed equipment scope; no generic gas approval, heat output or certification is implied.
Technical and Safety References
US CPSC carbon-monoxide safety guidance; Québec government outdoor-fire safety guidance. Guidance must be applied to the actual product, location and project; it is not certification of an offered configuration.
International Project Enquiries
ASC welcomes project enquiries from the USA, UK, Europe, Canada, Brazil and other international destinations. Include the delivery location and required date so packing, availability and logistics can be addressed in the quotation.
Corten Steel Gas Fire Pits FAQs
Is the burner included?
Only when specifically listed in the accepted offer. An enclosure-only supply does not include a functioning gas appliance.
Can the same unit use propane and natural gas?
Do not assume interchangeability. The fuel and approved equipment configuration must be confirmed with the equipment supplier and qualified installer.
Does the Corten body provide gas certification?
No. Any approval must apply to the relevant complete equipment configuration and destination requirements, not merely the enclosure material.
Can a gas fire table be used indoors?
Outdoor gas fire equipment is not intended for enclosed indoor spaces. Follow its instructions and local rules; carbon monoxide is a serious combustion hazard.
Who specifies ventilation openings?
The enclosure design must follow the matched equipment instructions and qualified project review. Do not improvise opening sizes from a generic product photograph.
What is needed for a quotation?
Provide enclosure dimensions, fuel, proposed burner package, required approvals, quantity, installation setting and destination.
