Garden Gates and Entrance Panels
A Corten steel gate combines a weathering-steel visual element with a moving assembly. Solid and patterned designs can be considered against the opening and support arrangement. A decorative panel alone is not a complete operational gate.
Provide a drawing that shows the clear passage, leaf dimensions and intended opening direction. Ground falls, nearby walls and landscape features can affect movement. Check that the proposed arrangement leaves adequate clearance throughout its travel.

Hinges, Posts and Latching
Gate weight, geometry and wind exposure influence the hardware and support design. The hinges, posts and foundations must work as an assembly rather than being selected independently by appearance. Clearly identify which components are to be included in the supply.
Latches, locks and stops should match the intended use. Public entrances, emergency routes and restricted-access areas may have different operational requirements. Confirm those requirements with the responsible designer before ordering the gate components.
Manual and Powered Gate Scope
A manually operated gate and an automated gate are different supply and safety scopes. If powered operation is intended, the complete system needs a competent assessment, suitable controls and protective measures for the installation. A motor added later does not automatically make a manual gate safe for automation.
The Corten panel is not an electrical or machinery certification. Automation, access controls and commissioning must be specified and accepted as part of the applicable system; no such approval is implied by the steel material.
Patterns, Edges and Weathering
Laser-cut designs should be checked for strength, safe openings and the treatment of enclosed shapes. Confirm which face is visible and show any branding or lettering on the approved drawing. Compare Corten privacy screens when coordinating fixed panels beside a gate.
Consider runoff onto paving and wet areas around posts or lower rails. Natural weathering can vary across the assembly, especially where faces receive different exposure. Agree the delivery finish and any treatment separately from the hardware specification.
Material and Supply Confirmation
Specify the required weathering-steel grade and delivery condition. Chemical composition and mechanical properties follow the selected base-material specification; there is no universal technical table for every fabricated configuration. Any certificate, traceability or inspection requirement should be included in the enquiry.

Only when listed in the offer. Provide the required hardware and operating arrangement so the scope is clear.
Can the gate be automated?
Submit the intended powered-system design for specialist review. The steel leaf does not itself establish compatibility or safe operation with an actuator.
What opening measurements are needed?

Can I specify a custom pattern?
Yes, submit artwork and dimensions for review. Pattern openings, stiffness and fixing details must suit the gate assembly.
Will the gate be supplied as a complete installation?

Do paired leaves need separate dimensions?
Show each leaf, the centre joint, clearances and opening sequence. Do not assume both leaves are identical or operate in the same way.
Can natural weathering affect nearby paving?
Runoff may mark adjacent finishes. Plan drainage and contact details, especially near the base of the gate and supports.
