What is an A242 Plate?
A242 Plates, or ASTM A242, are high-strength, low-alloy structural steels that were designed to tarnish, creating a weathered or rust-like aesthetic when exposed to weather conditions. The A242 plates create a protective layer which assists in ensuring that it is not going to need to be coated or painted and therefore prolongs the life of the steel.
