Driveline tubing

There are a variety of applications for driveline tubing. Different colors are available for steel and aluminum tubing. Automobile manufacturers use the tubing. In the trucking industry, it is used for all kinds of transportation. The production industries depend more on this type of tubing, as is also well known.

Driveline tubing is a common material in the construction industry. High-pressure, low-pressure, and vacuum applications require rubber. This type of tubing is commonly used in plastic manufacturing. Side-cut tube end fittings are designed for use under low pressures and vacuums. pressure

When the fitting is screwed into the pipe or tube, the threads of the fitting slip into another threaded hole. A carburetor valve or a fuel pump valve can be used to open and close the end fitting. Two different sizes of side-cut tubing fittings are available in these fittings, one with a larger thread and one with a smaller thread.

In addition, there are side-cut fittings with a variety of sizes, some of which can be used in more than one application. Tube end fittings are often used in the automotive industry to meet pressure and vacuum requirements. Additionally, they facilitate the connection of high- and low-pressure fuel lines from vehicles.

Driveline tubing is used in pipelines, oil wells, and other industrial applications. It is primarily used for dissolving oil or gas. There are holes drilled through a hard, conical mesh that allows liquid to flow through it.

To ensure an even flow of oil and fluid being pumped, these items are usually used in conjunction with injection pressure losses. The high-pressure (HPP) steel used in pipelines allows oil or gas to flow more freely through them.

Extruded polyethylene (PEX) pipes are commonly used to manufacture gas and oil pipelines. Fuel lines typically use these pipes, but they can also be used anywhere high pressure is required. In the refinement of crude oil, peptone packing is also used as an additive.

Driveline tubing is necessary for high-pressure and high-temperature applications. Driveline tubing is corrosion-resistant due to its aluminum and titanium alloy. Fuel lines, industrial pipes, and pipelines can all be served by this tubing.

Driveline Installation

  1. Support the driveline, and install the four capscrews that attach the slip yoke to the end yoke.
  2. Tap the bearing cups lightly with a brass or copper hammer to seat the bearing cups into the weld yoke and slip yoke.
  3. Install the capscrews
  4. Hand-tighten the capscrews to the yoke pilot.
  5. Use a torque wrench to alternately tighten the capscrews according to the specifi cations given earlier.
  6. Support the weld yoke end of the driveline, and install the four capscrews that attach the cross assembly to the end yoke.
  7. Tap the bearing cups lightly with a brass or copper hammer to seat the bearing cups into the weld yoke and slip yoke.
  8. Install the capscrews

Inspect the driveline as follows

  1. Axle and transmission end yokes should be checked for axial looseness. Please refer to the axle or transmission service information for the correct specifications.
  2. Disconnect the driveshaft if it is loose. The end yoke retaining nut must be tightened to the proper specification. The correct specifications can be found in the axle or transmission service information.
  3. Make sure the cross assemblies are not worn out. Apply a vertical force of about 50 pounds. Near the cross assemblies on the driveline. Replace the cross assembly if it moves more than 0.006 inches (0.152 mm).
  4. Examine the slip yoke spline for excessive radial movement using a dial indicator. The slip yoke and tube shaft should not be looser than 0.007 inches (0.178 mm). Propshafts and slip yokes should be replaced if excessive looseness is present.
  5. Check the shaft for damaged or bent tubing. You should remove any foreign material that has built up on the shaft, such as mud, road contamination, etc.
